Description

This vintage Persian Senneh kilim features a repeated Boteh motif composition arranged through rhythmic Vagireh structure across a deep jet-black wool field.

The palette is intentionally restrained, combining dominant black tonalities with soft coral-red accents distributed throughout the geometric tribal composition.

The overall atmosphere feels graphic, primitive, and strongly nomadic while preserving the disciplined decorative rhythm associated with Senneh weaving traditions.

Across the surface, repeated Boteh motifs create continuous patterned movement through organized geometric repetition.

The use of a darker jet-black field gives the composition unusually strong visual contrast and reinforces the clarity of the repeated tribal structures.

The geometric drawing remains direct and simplified, preserving the primitive handmade identity characteristic of older tribal flatweaving traditions.

Soft coral-red accents interrupt the darker field and create subtle visual warmth within the otherwise monochromatic structure.

The wool-rich surface gives the kilim tactile density and strengthens the material presence of the darker palette.

Visible abrash movement softens sections of the black and coral tonal areas and reinforces the handmade dyeing atmosphere of the weaving.

Because the piece is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the precision of the geometric Boteh composition.

The interaction between the jet-black field, repeated Vagireh Boteh motifs, primitive geometric rhythm, and restrained coral accents creates highly graphic tribal atmosphere with refined Kurdish character.

This piece stands out for its dark monochromatic palette, repeated Boteh structure, and minimalist Senneh tribal geometry.
