DESCRIPTION

This vintage Persian Harsin kilim features a saturated geometric tribal composition woven through primitive abstract structure and strong tonal contrast.

The palette combines deep madder red, inky navy, dark aubergine, and electric orange accents layered across the surface through bold tribal color relationships.

The overall atmosphere feels highly graphic, primitive, and energetic while preserving the tactile handmade identity associated with older Harsin flatweaving traditions.

The primary structural motif of the composition is a simple triangular form whose repetition and expansion generate the larger Surmedan motif structure throughout the kilim.

One of the most distinctive visual characteristics of this piece is the dramatic shift of the field color from blue into red and then back again into blue.

This type of spontaneous tonal transition usually appears in weavings that remain fully dependent on the instinct and material decisions of the weaver rather than being produced according to rigid market-oriented workshop standards.

The composition therefore preserves unusually direct nomadic and personal weaving character.

Along the borders, the black structural sections are woven using goat hair.

In tribal flatweaving traditions, goat hair was often used to strengthen the textile structure and improve resistance against moisture and environmental exposure.

The wool-rich surface gives the kilim dense tactile energy and reinforces the saturated visual depth of the darker palette.

Visible abrash movement softens transitions between the navy, red, and aubergine tonal areas while strengthening the handmade dyeing atmosphere of the piece.

Because the kilim is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the sharp geometric tribal organization.

The interaction between the dramatic field-color shifts, Surmedan geometry, electric orange accents, and darker saturated palette creates powerful primitive abstraction with strong collectible tribal presence.

This piece stands out for its spontaneous color transitions, goat-hair structural borders, and deeply saturated Harsin tribal geometry.
