DESCRIPTION

This Persian Delfan kilim features a vertically structured geometric tribal composition built through rhythmic repeated motifs arranged across the flatwoven surface.

The palette combines burnt madder red, dark charcoal navy, and dusty olive accents layered throughout the composition.

The field areas are woven in deep charcoal-black tonalities framed by burnt madder-red borders that create strong visual contrast across the tribal structure.

Visible abrash movement creates softened tonal transitions and reinforces the handmade dyeing character of the kilim.

The overall atmosphere feels bold, rhythmic, and tribal while preserving the balanced geometric structure characteristic of classic Persian kilim weaving traditions.

Sormehdan motifs appear throughout the composition as part of the geometric tribal vocabulary woven into the vertically organized structure.

All motifs and structural elements remain geometric and direct, reflecting the visual language associated with traditional Delfan nomadic flatwoven textiles.

The black borders are woven with goat hair, traditionally used to strengthen the kilim structure and increase resistance to moisture and wear within nomadic environments.

Because the kilim is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the clarity of the geometric tribal motifs.

The interaction between the charcoal-black field, burnt madder-red borders, dusty olive accents, abrash texture, and repeated Sormehdan motifs creates strong tribal decorative atmosphere with clear Delfan textile identity.

This piece stands out for its vertically structured composition, bold geometric rhythm, classic Persian kilim character, and richly contrasted tribal palette.
