Description

This vintage Persian Harsin kilim is a highly refined tribal textile featuring dense micro-geometric composition arranged through warm earth-toned coloration and layered symbolic ornamentation.

The palette combines dark chocolate brown, oxidized red, deep navy, and softened abrash transitions that create atmospheric tonal depth across the surface.

The kilim carries a strong all-over pattern effect, where dense repeated motifs generate continuous visual rhythm without relying on a dominant central medallion.

The primary field design is known locally as Gol-e Nokhod, a regional geometric motif tradition associated with western Iranian village and tribal weaving cultures.

The border system is composed of multiple symbolic layers.

The first border contains Cheshm Nazar motifs associated with protective symbolism and warding off the evil eye.

The second border introduces repeated star motifs, while the third incorporates duck motifs woven in highly abstract tribal form.

Together, these layered borders create dense symbolic framing around the more continuous field structure.

The dark navy ground intensifies the visibility of the oxidized red and earth-toned geometric details while preserving calm atmospheric balance.

Visible abrash variation throughout sections of the kilim reinforces the handmade dyeing character and introduces tonal movement into the tightly structured composition.

The upper and lower fringes remain decorated and braided, preserving tactile tribal detail and authentic handmade construction.

The unusually fine density of the geometric repetition gives the kilim highly refined visual texture despite its deeply rustic tribal origins.

This piece stands out for its micro-geometric rhythm, symbolic border system, and exceptionally refined Harsin tribal weaving quality.
