Description

This vintage Persian Kermanshah kilim features a strong tribal geometric composition built around medallions and structural forms generated through the expansion of repeated square motifs.

The palette combines madder red tonalities with deep indigo blue and burnt-orange accents layered throughout the flatwoven composition.

The overall atmosphere feels bold, vibrating, and deeply nomadic while preserving the handmade irregularity characteristic of western Iranian tribal weaving traditions.

The entire geometric structure of the kilim emerges through the repetition and expansion of square-based elements that gradually build larger medallions and tribal forms across the surface.

These repeated geometric units generate strong rhythmic movement and create a visually vibrating tribal structure throughout the composition.

The high contrast between the saturated madder-red sections and darker indigo geometry reinforces the bold graphic atmosphere of the weaving.

Burnt-orange accents introduce additional warmth and tonal movement within the stronger red-and-indigo tribal palette.

All motifs and structural elements remain geometric and direct, reflecting the visual language associated with Kermanshah nomadic flatwoven textiles.

This kilim was woven by nomadic tribal weavers from the Kermanshah region in western Iran and preserves the structural clarity associated with traditional Persian tribal flatweaving.

Because the kilim is fully flatwoven, the sharp geometric structure remains visually clear throughout the composition.

The interaction between the madder-red field, indigo tribal geometry, burnt-orange accents, and square-generated medallion structure creates powerful nomadic decorative atmosphere with clear Kermanshah textile identity.

This piece stands out for its high-contrast tribal palette, vibrating geometric rhythm, square-based structural design, and expressive handmade character.
