Description

This vintage Persian Isfahan rug features a dense classical medallion-and-corner composition structured through Shah Abbasi floral motifs arranged across a deep navy field.

The palette follows color relationships characteristic of mid-20th-century Isfahan weaving traditions, where navy grounds are enriched by antique gold highlights and layered ornamental detail.

The field carries dense decorative patterning that creates refined visual rhythm and concentrated Persian ornamental elegance.

Areas throughout the rug show significant pile wear, and in some sections the pile has been almost completely reduced.

Rather than diminishing the character of the rug, this wear creates strong authentic vintage atmosphere and reinforces the aged material presence of the textile.

The interaction between the exposed worn areas and the remaining ornamental pattern gives the rug pronounced visual depth and tactile historical character.

The rug retains a relatively low pile overall, allowing the detailed Shah Abbasi motifs and medallion structure to remain visually clear despite the aged surface.

Because of its worn but durable structure, the rug is particularly well suited for high-traffic interior settings such as company lobbies, galleries, studios, or hospitality spaces where vintage atmosphere is desired.

The contrast between the dense floral composition, navy field, antique gold highlights, and visibly aged surface creates balanced classical elegance with authentic vintage texture.

This piece stands out for its worn vintage character, navy Isfahan palette, and richly layered Shah Abbasi ornamentation.
