Description

This vintage Persian Nahavand rug features a highly unusual memory-woven medallion-and-corner composition executed through deep navy, madder red, and brick-red tonal layering.

Ivory, soft pink, and subtle sky-blue accents appear throughout the composition and create softened contrast within the darker tribal palette.

The rug carries strong mysterious and narrative atmosphere because of its primitive handmade structure and highly instinctive drawing style.

The composition appears to have been woven entirely from memory rather than from a formal paper cartoon, preserving the direct visual logic of village weaving traditions.

Most motifs throughout the rug are difficult to identify precisely because of their primitive abstraction and freer geometric interpretation.

Despite their ambiguity, the motifs are structurally derived from floral and leaf forms distributed across the field and ornamental sections.

The medallion composition remains asymmetrical and instinctive, reinforcing the emotionally charged handmade character of the rug.

The longer pile height adds tactile density and strengthens the atmospheric depth of the darker palette.

Visible abrash movement softens transitions between the navy, brick-red, and madder tonalities and gives the surface layered visual texture.

The interaction between the primitive floral abstraction, darker tribal palette, and softer ivory-pink highlights creates emotionally charged village atmosphere with strong collectible character.

This piece stands out for its mysterious memory-woven composition, abstract Nahavand tribal motifs, and deeply atmospheric handmade presence.
