Description

This vintage Persian Zanjan kilim features a vertical Moharramat stripe composition structured through repeated abstract geometric tribal motifs woven across parallel directional bands.
The palette combines olive green, muted raspberry, soft peach, warm black, and earthy tonal layering softened through visible abrash movement across the surface.
The overall atmosphere remains earthy and moderately saturated, preserving calm tribal rhythm rather than sharp high contrast.
In Persian weaving traditions, Moharramat refers to striped compositions containing repeated internal motifs organized through directional horizontal or vertical bands.
Within these vertical striped structures, abstract geometric motifs repeat rhythmically and create highly graphic visual movement throughout the kilim.
The rug preserves the direct geometric visual language associated with older Zanjan village flatweaving traditions.
Visible abrash variation softens transitions between the olive-green, raspberry, and darker tonal areas while giving the surface additional atmospheric depth.
The warm black accents anchor the softer surrounding colors and strengthen the architectural structure of the composition.
Because the kilim is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the clarity of the geometric pattern.
The interaction between the vertical Moharramat structure, muted raspberry tones, olive-green accents, and softened earthy palette creates calm tribal atmosphere with balanced graphic rhythm.
This piece stands out for its vertical Moharramat geometry, earthy abrash palette, and restrained Zanjan village aesthetic.
