Description

This Persian Baluch nomadic bag is an old tribal textile featuring a dark geometric composition structured through Moharramat-style patterning and layered handmade texture.
The palette is centered on jet black tones contrasted by ivory highlights and smaller warm orange accents that sharpen sections of the geometric structure.
The front surface displays a vertically organized geometric Moharramat composition enriched by additional braided fringes and decorative corner tassels.
These extra woven details create movement and sculptural variation across the otherwise restrained tribal surface.
The reverse side remains flatwoven in black, preserving the practical handmade construction characteristic of utilitarian nomadic bags.
Goat hair has been incorporated into sections of the weaving, a material traditionally valued in tribal weaving for durability, flexibility, and structural strength.
The interaction between the dark ground, lighter highlights, and tactile woven materials creates a concentrated and atmospheric nomadic presence.
Despite the relative simplicity of the palette, the layered texture and additional decorative details create strong visual depth and rhythmic tribal movement.
Originally woven as a functional storage textile, the object also functions today as a sculptural tribal artifact through its preserved tassels, textured surface, and dark atmospheric coloration.
This piece stands out for its jet black palette, Moharramat geometry, and richly tactile handmade nomadic structure.
