Description

This vintage Persian Koohdasht kilim is a handmade tribal textile featuring earthy red coloration structured through linear geometric composition and softened mineral-like tonal variation.

The palette combines dusty raspberry, muted pink, olive green, and subdued palm-like earth tones that create calm atmospheric warmth across the surface.

Ivory zigzag accents appear throughout sections of the composition and introduce restrained contrast against the otherwise softened field.

The overall contrast remains medium and visually soft, giving the kilim balanced decorative presence without excessive sharpness.

The geometric design belongs to a broader weaving tradition commonly found across western Iran, though examples of this type are particularly associated with Lak-speaking tribal and nomadic communities.

The motifs remain abstract and linear, reflecting the direct tribal visual language characteristic of village and nomadic weaving traditions from the Zagros region.

The kilim carries goat-hair selvage along the edges, reinforcing structural durability and authentic handmade construction.

The lower fringe remains braided and decorated, preserving additional tactile tribal detail and reinforcing the nomadic identity of the textile.

The softened coloration and restrained geometry allow the kilim to function particularly well within interiors using dark wood, Mediterranean tonal palettes, or wabi-sabi-inspired spatial aesthetics.

The interaction between the earthy reds, muted greens, ivory accents, and linear geometric rhythm creates calm contemplative tribal atmosphere with strong architectural balance.

This piece stands out for its softened earthy palette, Lak-associated geometric composition, and quiet mineral-toned tribal atmosphere.
