Description

This vintage Kurdish Persian kilim from Kermanshah is a reversible tribal textile featuring sage-green coloration structured through geometric medallion rhythm and softened abrash tonal movement.

The composition is organized around ivory diamond-chain medallions that create directional movement across the field while preserving balanced tribal geometry.

The motifs remain abstract and geometric, reflecting the symbolic visual language associated with Kurdish weaving traditions across western Iran.

Visible abrash variation appears throughout sections of the kilim and introduces tonal depth and organic handmade movement into the surface.

The sage-green field coloration gives the textile unusually calm atmospheric presence compared to more saturated tribal palettes.

The interaction between the softened green field and ivory geometric structures creates restrained contrast and quiet visual balance.

The weaving retains strong rustic character through its tactile irregularities, softened geometry, and direct handmade structure.

As a fully flatwoven textile, the kilim is reversible and can be used from both sides, a characteristic shared by traditional all-flatwoven tribal kilims.

This reversible construction reinforces both the functional practicality and authentic woven identity of the textile.

The composition remains visually calm and architectural despite the density of the geometric repetition.

The interaction between the sage palette, ivory medallions, and softened abrash creates contemplative tribal atmosphere with understated material depth.

This piece stands out for its sage-green coloration, ivory diamond-chain medallions, and quiet rustic Kurdish atmosphere.
