Description

This rustic Kurdish vintage kilim is a handmade tribal textile from western Iran, likely woven in one of the weaving regions surrounding Kermanshah.

The composition is structured around six geometric medallions connected through an ivory diamond-chain arrangement that creates strong directional rhythm across the surface.

The field carries multicolored tribal tonal variation layered through softened earth tones, faded contrasts, and visible abrash movement.

The overall atmosphere of the kilim remains warm and desert-like despite the complexity of the geometric organization.

Most motifs throughout the textile remain abstract and geometric, reflecting the direct symbolic visual language associated with Kurdish tribal weaving traditions across western Iran.

The interaction between the ivory medallion chain and the surrounding warmer field tones creates balanced visual contrast while preserving the calm rustic atmosphere of the composition.

Visible abrash variation appears throughout sections of the kilim and reinforces the handmade dyeing character of the weaving.

The surface retains the tactile irregularities and softened geometry characteristic of authentic village and tribal weaving traditions.

Woven fringes remain preserved along the upper edge of the kilim, reinforcing its handmade tribal identity and material authenticity.

The composition combines rhythmic medallion repetition with softer tonal movement, producing layered visual depth without excessive ornamental density.

This piece stands out for its ivory diamond-chain medallions, warm desert-toned palette, and rustic Kurdish tribal atmosphere.
