Description

This old Persian Turkmen rug is a highly disciplined tribal weaving featuring a rich brick red palette structured through precise geometric repetition and balanced symmetrical organization.
The dominant bright red field reflects the most characteristic coloration associated with many Turkmen weaving traditions across northern Iran and regions surrounding the Caspian Sea.
The main field contains repeated Tekke Gol Mouri and Qurbaqa motifs arranged in highly ordered rhythmic sequence.
The borders display the well-known Alamunjiq motif, reinforcing the strong geometric framework of the composition.
Despite the tribal and village-based origins of Turkmen weaving traditions, the level of symmetry within these rugs is often remarkably precise.
Small ivory and orange accents sharpen sections of the geometric structure, while muted copper tonal touches soften parts of the otherwise highly controlled composition.
The rug has a low pile, allowing the geometric motifs to appear sharper and more graphically defined across the surface.
Flatwoven kilim ends remain preserved at both the upper and lower edges of the rug.
The interaction between the disciplined geometry, saturated brick red field, and restrained accent colors creates strong tribal elegance and concentrated visual rhythm.
The visibly handmade structure preserves the tactile authenticity of the weaving while maintaining unusual compositional precision.
This piece stands out for its symmetrical Turkmen geometry, classic tribal motifs, and refined brick red palette.
