Description

This vintage Persian Kermanshah kilim features a dynamic symmetrical tribal composition built around three large geometric medallions arranged across the flatwoven surface.

The palette combines madder-red tonalities with charcoal brown structure and muted sage-green accents layered throughout the composition.

The medallion structure emerges through the expansion and repetition of triangular geometric elements woven continuously across the tribal design.

These repeated triangular forms create strong rhythmic movement while preserving the balanced symmetry characteristic of Persian nomadic flatweaving traditions.

The overall atmosphere feels powerful, organized, and deeply tribal while maintaining the handmade irregularity associated with vintage Kermanshah weaving traditions.

Visible tonal movement within the field areas reinforces the handmade dyeing character of the kilim and creates softened visual depth throughout the composition.

The selvage bands are woven with goat hair, traditionally used in tribal kilim weaving to strengthen the structure and improve long-term durability.

A visible stain appears in the upper-right border section, consistent with the age and lived history of the weaving.

All motifs and structural elements remain geometric and direct, reflecting the visual language associated with Persian tribal flatwoven textiles.

Because the kilim is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the clarity of the geometric tribal composition.

The interaction between the madder-red palette, charcoal-brown structure, muted sage accents, triangular geometric movement, and balanced medallion symmetry creates strong nomadic decorative atmosphere with clear Kermanshah textile identity.

This piece stands out for its powerful geometric rhythm, richly saturated tribal palette, organized symmetrical structure, and expressive handmade character.
