Description

This vintage Persian Kermanshah kilim features a highly expressive nomadic composition arranged through floating geometric motifs and medallions woven across the flatwoven surface.

The palette combines warm ivory tonalities with muted turquoise structure and soft charcoal-black accents layered throughout the composition.

The overall atmosphere feels open, spontaneous, and deeply tribal while preserving the handmade irregularity characteristic of Persian nomadic weaving traditions.

Triangular geometric elements function as the foundational structural unit from which the larger motifs and medallions gradually emerge throughout the composition.

These repeated triangular forms create rhythmic tribal movement while maintaining the free and unconstrained visual language associated with nomadic flatwoven textiles.

The floating medallions and dispersed geometric motifs generate a sense of openness rarely found in more rigidly organized tribal compositions.

Subtle tonal interaction between the warm ivory field and muted turquoise structure creates softened decorative depth across the weaving.

The selvage edges are woven with goat hair, traditionally used in tribal flatweaving to strengthen the structure and improve durability.

All motifs and structural elements remain geometric and direct while preserving the expressive irregularity associated with Persian tribal flatwoven textiles.

Because the kilim is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the clarity of the floating tribal motifs.

The interaction between the ivory palette, muted turquoise tonalities, charcoal-black accents, triangle-based geometry, and open medallion structure creates highly atmospheric nomadic decorative presence with clear Kermanshah textile identity.

This piece stands out for its floating tribal composition, restrained mineral palette, free-form geometric structure, and highly authentic Oriental nomadic textile character.
