This Zabol saddlebag is an antique tribal textile woven around 1945, featuring a compact framed geometric composition executed through dual weaving techniques.
The palette is built around deep madder red and espresso brown tones, with ivory and bright crimson accents creating contrast across the dense tribal structure.
One of the most distinctive features of the piece is the decorative shell ornamentation applied to the center of the saddlebag. Two floral motifs are formed using shells, introducing an object-based decorative layer beyond the woven surface itself.
At the center of the shell arrangement is a blue bead traditionally known as a protective bead used against the evil eye, reflecting symbolic and cultural beliefs associated with nomadic life.
