Description

This antique Persian Harsin kilim features an extremely dense geometric tribal composition formed through the repeated expansion of small triangular motifs across the entire surface.

The primary structural motif is the Surmedan motif, whose repetition and geometric development create the larger visual rhythm of the kilim.

The palette combines crimson red, deep aubergine, raspberry pink, muted burgundy touches, and creamy ivory accents layered through softened tribal tonal movement.

The overall atmosphere remains rich, graphic, and highly decorative while preserving the disciplined structure associated with older Harsin flatweaving traditions.

The kilim is unusually fine and tightly woven, giving the surface strong visual density and highly controlled geometric organization.

One of the unusual characteristics of this piece is the absence of separately woven upper and lower border finishes.

In Harsin kilims, which are often structurally organized and visually rule-based, this freer unfinished approach is relatively uncommon.

Another notable characteristic is its fully wool structure.

Many Harsin kilims traditionally use cotton warps, while this example is woven entirely from wool, giving the piece softer tactile density and stronger nomadic material character.

Visible abrash movement softens transitions between the crimson, aubergine, and burgundy tonal areas while reinforcing the handmade dyeing atmosphere of the kilim.

Because the piece is fully flatwoven and reversible, both sides can be used while preserving the precision of the geometric tribal pattern.

The interaction between the dense triangular geometry, Surmedan structure, crimson-and-aubergine palette, and creamy ivory highlights creates highly rhythmic tribal atmosphere with strong collectible presence.

This piece stands out for its fully wool construction, borderless Harsin structure, and exceptionally dense geometric tribal organization.
